Personal Interview

Where were you born and raised?
I was born in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota and raised on Island Lake is eastern Becker County and other various places.

What was your first exposure to music? What type of music did you prefer?
My first exposure to music was praise and worship music. I now prefer light rock.

What was your first musical group that you joined? What kind of music did you play? When and where was this?
My family sang in church for special occasions. At first I just watched but then after a while I began to sing with the family too.

How did you first become interested in Celtic Music?
The first time I was really interested in Celtic music I was in Fort Wayne Indiana. There was a band that I saw call Cherish The Ladies and ever since then, I've loved Celtic music.

How did you happen to become a part of Northwind Crossing?
The rest of the band was going to play at a little theater in Akeley Minnesota as the pre-show entertainment and our guitar player (Bill Meyer) couldn't make it so my Mom asked me if I would play the autoharp to make up for not having a guitar. I said "Yah, I would." and ever since then I've been a part of the band.

What do you do when you are not playing or singing Celtic Music? In other words, what is your other life like outside of Northwind Crossing?
I like to spend time with friends and family. I do some websites also on the side. And of course practice.
